At Bright Beginnings, we want both parents and children to be prepared for the learning and growth that occurs in school. We have compiled pages of resources to help with that.

Mixed Delivery Grant Program

We are partnering with private childcare programs to implement the Mixed Delivery Preschool program. Funded through a grant from the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation, mixed delivery expands access to preschool programming

  • By covering the tuition for eligible families

  • Giving children an opportunity for high-quality early learning

We are working with childcare programs in Amherst, Bedford, and Campbell counties, and the city of Lynchburg.

116 children have been accepted into the program this year, an increase of 38 slots over last year. With the added slots, two new Mixed Delivery partner sites were added: Aslan Castle Early Learning Center and Caterpillar Clubhouse Leesville. Second-year partner sites include Elizabeth’s Early Learning Center, Altavista Y Discovery Place, Randolph College Nursery School, Mary Bethune Academy, Amelon Early Learning Center, and the Bedford YMCA.

All children are supported in getting ready for kindergarten to lay the building blocks for third-grade reading proficiency.
